Fundamentals
The greatest threat to brickwork and plaster is moisture; when the facade becomes damp not only does damage occur to
the fabric of the building but also ideal conditions are created for the outside walls to become covered in green algae,
moss and dirt. But damp walls should also be avoided from an energetic point of view. Because the damper the wall,
the more heat it transmits. This not only shows itself in energy losses during the winter months. In the summer too,
an increased transmission of heat to the interior of the building occurs.
Bioni Perform possesses impressive physical properties and its outstanding qualities ensure best possible, permanent
protection for the facade against the effects of the environment and the weather. The combination of its efficient water
vapour diffusion characteristics together with its hydrophobic nature ensures that moisture can migrate out of the wall
while at the same time rain water will be repelled from the surface - damage caused by dampness is prevented and energy

Principles of Operation
Optimal moisture regulation & facade protection
Insufficient protection against moisture also has a very negative effect on the energy consumption of a building. The
more moisture a wall contains the more heat it will conduct to the outside. The thermal insulation of a wall can be reduced
by up to 40% if it contains 5% moisture by volume. This leads to high levels of energy loss in the winter months. Thanks
to its special combination of binders and fillers incorporating silicate micro spheres, Bioni Perform possesses properties
which optimally regulate moisture ensuring that the facade receives the best possible protection against the penetration of
dampness and that its surface dries quickly. Damage to the fabric of the building is thus prevented and energy losses caused
by dampness are reduced. Studies have shown that Bioni Perform's principle of operation which is similar to that observed
in membranes promotes the drying out of damp walls in an optimal manner.
Durable protection against algae and moss
Bioni Perform provides long-term protection from algae and moss by the addition of a unique nano-silver compound of
substances, which in combination with the optimum qualities of the coating in regulating dampness ensures that the build-up
of micro-organisms on the painted surface is permanently made more difficult.
This fact has been confirmed by studies conducted by the Official Materials Test Institute in Bremen which conclude that
the Bioni Perform facade coating is highly resistant to the growth of algae. In addition, the studies show that Bioni Perform
releases no algaecide agents into the environment. This not only protects the environment; it also underlines the advanced
